Kiraphat Khianthongkul is now a lecturer at the Institute of Metropolitan Development, Navamindradhiraj University, and Ph.D. student in Political Science, Thammasat University, Bangkok, Thailand. He has field interested in Decentralization, Local Government, Local Governance, Politics of Thailand, and Public Policy. He has earned B.A. in Public Administration from Khon Kaen University and M.A. in Political Science from Thammasat University, Thailand.

Kiraphat Khianthongkul has published works on local government and local governance in several academic journals. He has worked in various positions such as plan and policy analyst, university lecturer, and assistant editor in academic journal. He has extensive experience with research teams in many projects on decentralization and local government with the Office of the Decentralization to the Local Government Organization Committee (ODLOC) and Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI).
